‘Operation Shanela’ cleans the streets of Evaton

Illegal shebeens were also closed and liquor confiscated.

EVATON. –  The South African Police Services’ (SAPS) ‘Operation Shanela’ recently yielded positive results in Evaton.

Police Spokesperson, Constable Thulisile Msibi said that numerous suspects were arrested for various reasons.

“During the operation, illegal immigrants were arrested, liquor was seized where we found people operating/selling without licenses. Illegal shebeens were also closed and some people were arrested for being in possession of drugs,” Msibi said.

Sedibeng District Commissioner Major General Lemba thanked the members for putting in more effort which always result in commendable successes.
