Mokwane expresses her enjoyment of thriving in a male-dominated industry and encourages other young women to follow suit.Reflecting on her modelling journey, Mokwane shares that her love for being in front of the camera began in her childhood.

However, during her teenage years, she struggled with self-esteem due to classmates mocking her for being too skinny. Her journey took a turn when she was discovered by Renita Lombard, who invited her to pursue modelling.

“At first, my insecurities held me back, but I decided to become the best version of myself, trusting my coach and believing in my talents and passion. From there, my dreams became clearer, and I pursued my passion for becoming a model.”

Mokwane envisions winning the pageant as a gateway to numerous opportunities. “Being Miss Grand South Africa would grant me the chance to represent South Africa in the Miss Grand International later this year. I would also become part of Miss Grand International and Miss Grand South Africa advocacy, standing up against war and advocating for human rights, given the daily tragedies involving women and children.”

Expressing her desire to eradicate the stigma against pageants, Mokwane emphasises the empowerment of women when they come together, celebrating each other’s victories in their respective fields.

Mokwane strongly believes that education extends beyond the classroom, emphasising the absorption of knowledge from various sources.

“Having confidence in yourself is the most important tool as a young woman, especially in a world filled with opportunities. It is the first step that provides the courage to pursue your goals. If you can see it, you can be it, it’s a matter of maintaining a positive mindset and never settling for mediocrity.”
