VANDERBIJLPARK – With several top-tier clubs opening in the Vanderbijlpark civic centre, the nightlife scenes just got a whole lot classier.
This comes after former Kapito Lifestyle Lounge owner, Ehis Ebhonu made a grand comeback with his brand-new venture, S&G.
The nightclub and lounge are said to be an upscale establishment offering nothing but premium vibes, top-tier entertainment and an experience like no other.
Just months after breaking up with Kapitos, Ebhonu is proving that he’s not just in the game, but rather planning on changing it.
Ster sat and chatted with one of the Vaal’s popular entrepreneurs to get an inside scoop on his latest project.
The media mogul told the paper what sets it apart and his vision for the future of nightlife in Vanderbijlpark.
Touching base on his motivation for S&G, Ebhonu said that his involvement in the nightlife realm pinpointed the demand for a well-run, high-end establishment.
With the lounge opening from noon till 02:00 and the club operating from 22:00 till late, Ebhonu said S&G ensures there’s no need for bar-hopping.
“I have operated in Vanderbijlpark for more than three years now and I saw there was a need for a place like S&G. People often go in search of a ‘second location’ at the end of the night. I figured, why not create something that allows people to stay out for as long as they want and not have to hop from one outlet to another? This also reduces the danger of driving around at night whereas you could just walk from the lounge, straight into the club,” he said.
Taking some of his previous establishments as experiments on cliental service, Ebhonu said he has learnt that everyone deserves equal treatment.
“Whether patrons want to spend R85 or R25 000, they should all be accorded the same respect and served with the best service possible. Another key lesson learnt is to not place too much focus on heavy spenders, but one has to find a way to attract random Joes who just want to pop in for a meal, a beer or just for a hubbly. Such clients are often the backbone of many outlets and that we plan to harness,” he added.
Ebhonu said the club’s capacity is deliberately limited to just 12 VIP tables, ensuring exclusivity and top-tier service. Meanwhile, the lounge accommodates 300 guests, making it the perfect spot for socialising, networking, and unwinding.
“Our spot ensures everyone is catered for. When it comes to music, we don’t disappoint. We play everything, from Hip Hop, Dancehall, R&B, Pop, House, Amapiano, and Afrobeat,” Ebhonu revealed.
Including food lovers to his concept, Ebhonu said they serving up a menu that’s as diverse as its clientele. “Think traditional South African staples like chicken feet and cow head, alongside continental favourites like Jollof Arancini and Umbila. We also serve classics like fish and chips, ribs, and gourmet burgers,” he concluded.
