BOPHELONG – Two men were killed in cold blood when three armed thugs stormed into a yard in the Marikana informal settlement, just outside Bophelong.

According to local police, the deadly ambush happened where the duo were standing before the gunmen opened fire.

Vanderbijlpark Police spokesperson Sergeant Sabelo Sigcu said the killers then proceeded to threaten the wife of one of the deceased.

They stole cash, cellphones, and 10 goats before fleeing the scene.

Sigcu confirmed that a double murder and house robbery case has been opened at their station, and investigations are underway.

Sigcu added that two of the suspects were armed with firearms, while the third carried a knife.
