SEDIBENG – The SAPS in Sedibeng District, under the command of Major General Nkhensani Mukhwevho, successfully hosted the Day of Excellence Awards on September 26.
The prestigious awards took place at Balmoral Gardens in De Deur, where officers were recognised and honoured for their dedication.
Several stakeholders were also awarded for their exceptional dedication, professionalism, and commitment towards creating a safer community.
The awards acknowledged excellence in various policing disciplines, including crime prevention, investigations, support services, and community policing initiatives.
Addressing the gathered crowd during the gala dinner, Major General Nkhensani Mukwevho extended her appreciation to the award recipients, noting that their achievements reflect the SAPS values of integrity, service delivery, and accountability.
“The Day of Excellence Awards is a platform to acknowledge members who go beyond the call of duty. Their hard work and selfless dedication remain an inspiration to their colleagues and a reassurance to the communities we serve,” said Mukwevho.
The ceremony further reinforced the importance of partnership policing, with the presence of the Community Policing Forum (CPF) and other key stakeholders, who continue to collaborate with SAPS in addressing crime within the district.
Sedibeng Cluster District police spokesperson Sergeant Thembeka Maxambela said, “Management congratulates all the recipients and encourages members to maintain a high standard of service delivery in line with the SAPS mandate of ensuring safety and security for all citizens.”
