SASOLBURG – Zamdela detectives are calling on the public to help identify a man caught on camera following a burglary at a local construction site.

The incident took place in the Walter Sisulu area during the early hours of February 18. According to police spokesperson Sergeant Josephine Rani, the business owner was at home at approximately 1:32 when he spotted three strangers on his property.

“He alerted a security firm. When guards arrived at the site, they witnessed three suspects jump over the fence,” she said.

Upon inspecting the premises, the owner discovered that his generator and compressor were missing. The total value of the stolen items is estimated to be R51 000.

The Zamdela Police have released an image of a person of interest and are urging anyone who recognises him to contact Detective Sergeant Lankie Sekgoto on 074 377 1070/082 301 6199 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.

Alternatively, submit an anonymous tipoff via the MySAPS App.
