VANDERBIJLPARK – The Fezile Dabi District Commissioner, Major General Moses Makubo, hosted officers from across the district during an Official launch of the Fezile Dabi District Officers Club and Annual Operational Plan (AOP) quarterly review session held at Opulence Gardens.
The programme commenced with a scripture reading by Captain (Rev) Femele, followed by a welcome address from Colonel Galant, who noted that the Officers’ Club aims to create a platform where officers can engage, empower one another, and strengthen leadership within the district.
During the session, Captain Bester presented the AOP quarterly review, outlining operational priorities and progress.
The programme also featured informative presentations on pre-retirement planning by Sanlam and mental health awareness.
In addition, Polmed conducted health screenings for members. Addressing the gathering, Makubo shared his vision for the Officers’ Club, emphasising the responsibilities of commissioned officers within the SAPS.
He reminded officers that commissioned officers hold a Deed of Commission issued by the President of South Africa and therefore carry the responsibility of representing the State.
The District Commissioner encouraged officers to support one another, remain grounded in their values, and lead by example.
Makubo further urged officers to familiarise themselves with SAPS policies, protocols, and institutional practices and to guide and mentor their subordinates.
As part of the Officers’ Club initiatives, members will receive training in public speaking, leadership development, presentation skills, and conflict resolution to strengthen leadership capacity and improve service delivery within the district.
The Fezile Dabi District Officers’ Club Committee was elected during the session, with Makubo appointed as chairperson. Makubo congratulated the newly promoted officers and encouraged them to continue building a culture of professionalism, unity, and leadership.
