SEDIBENG – ANC bigwigs ditched the boardrooms and hit the streets in Sedibeng as the party kicked off its election campaign in the Vaal.
The ANC Gauteng Provincial Election Team (PET) descended on Wards 19, 20 and 43 on August 31, where senior leaders went door-to-door speaking to residents.
The entourage knocked on doors, greeted residents and listened to their complaints.
Among those on the ground were Gauteng ANC provincial convener Panyaza Lesufi, deputy coordinator Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko, head of elections Lebohang Maile and convener Matome Chiloane.
They were joined by local ANC leaders, including Sedibeng ANC treasurer Hassan Mako, as well as members of the ANC Youth League and ANC Women’s League.
The visit started at the ANC constituency office, Duma Nokwe House, in Vereeniging, where party leaders discussed campaign coordination, organisational readiness and grassroots mobilisation.
The party said the engagement was part of preparations for the Mayihlome Phase as it gears up for the 2026 Local Government Elections.
Nkomo-Ralehoko said on social media that the campaign aimed to engage directly with communities, understand their concerns, and strengthen grassroots mobilisation.
