Winter’s turning point reached!

Today is the 21st of June which means we have more or less reached the winter solstice in the southern hemisphere.

The winter solstice is marked by the shortest day and longest night of the year.

From here the days will gradually get longer and the nights shorter.

During the winter solstice, the earth’s axis reaches its greatest distance from the sun.

However, this does not mean the end of the cold, but rather that winter is gradually coming to an end and making way for spring.
