Raw sewage flows into the Leeuspruit

Mrs. Ina van der Vaart is one of the many worried residents. She is now turning to the media as no one from the city council is paying attention to the situation.

She took photos as proof of the raw sewage that bubbled out next to their neighborhood and flowed into the Leeuspruit. She says it’s been like this for months.

“The stench is unbearable and creates a health hazard for us as residents,” says Ina.

The creek runs into the Vaal River which means that all residents along the river, as well as those who plan to frolic on the river in the summer, are also exposed to the contaminated water.
