Police looking for three armed men after male’s throat was slit
After the alleged suspects left the two friends discovered the owner of the house was bleeding and his throat had been slit.
The Provincial Organised Crime Investigation unit in Free State are looking for three unknown males who entered into a home in Harry Gwala, Zamdela, robbed and assaulted the victim and his friends and left him dead.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Mahlomola Kareli said at about 00:30 on Wednesday, December 6 it is alleged that the victim was with his two friends sitting at his home in Harry Gwala when they heard a knock on the door.
“One of his friends opened the door and three unknown armed suspects stormed in demanding cash from the victim and his friends. They took the victim’s bank card and cash after they ransacked the house.”
Before leaving, it is alleged that the suspects assaulted the three victims and left the scene. After they left, the two friends discovered that the owner of the house’s throat was slit and was left bleeding.”
Zamdela police and emergency medical services were summoned to the scene and on arrival, the 55-year-old male was declared dead at the scene. Police have opened cases of murder and house robbery. No one has been arrested yet.
