He expressed that while it was their first endeavor of this nature, it exceeded expectations. Manzi extended his gratitude to the Buitumelo community for their overwhelming support, especially the younger generation. Additionally, he thanked Johannes Lepota, Chairman of the Emfuleni Vaal Chess Association, for ensuring the seamless execution of the event. “It was a delightful day for the Boitumelo community, marking the introduction of chess in our area. Thanks to Mr.

Lepota, these young individuals enjoyed themselves. Chess demands intense concentration, focus, and strategic thinking. I congratulate the winners and encourage those who didn’t win; there will always be another opportunity. It’s important to recognise that in sports, participation and enjoyment matter just as much as winning. For many, it was their first exposure to such a game, and their efforts were commendable,” shared Manzi.
