Brains with beauty for Mazibuko

Not only is she Miss Humanitarian SA 2024, but she also excels academically, currently studying Electrical Engineering at Sedibeng TVET College.

SEBOKENG.- Hailing from the streets of Evaton emerges a tale of a visionary young lady and Miss Humanitarian South Africa Finalist 2024, a creative woman who pursues her passion for being a helping hand for her community, turning her dreams into reality.

Meet Nontsikelelo Vuyokazi Mazibuko, a 23-year-old native of Evaton West whose love for her community has shaped a unique path in the area she serves. Not only is she Miss Humanitarian SA 2024, but she also excels academically, currently studying Electrical Engineering at Sedibeng TVET College.

Miss Humanitarian SA is a pageant that uplifts women rooted in charity work, centered around the idea of Ubuntu and giving back to the community.

Mazibuko ‘s primary aim in entering Miss Humanitarian SA 2024 was to receive recognition for bettering her community. Her dream is to open a youth and children’s recreation center that will assist young people in discovering themselves and unleashing their potential.

Nontsikelelo runs a back-to-school preparation charity salon for children’s hair before school reopens after the holidays.

She envisions becoming a productive charity in her community, inspiring a positive mindset in the youth and children, and instilling hope.

Her commitment to her community is immense and a blessing to those she helps. She actively engages in charity drives, seeks sponsors, distributes clothes to those in need, aids children with back-to-school preparations, motivates youth to take action, and partners with community members, orphanages, and disability homes.

Nolwando Mbongeni (31), an Evaton West resident, remarked: “I met Nontsikelelo at church; she is a God-fearing young woman. She loves giving back to those in need. I am a big fan of what she is doing; not everyone can do what she does. It takes a good heart filled with the spirit of God.”

She also runs a clothing drive collecting donations for disadvantaged homes.

Mazibuko ‘s minor goals include starting a youth club focusing on the development of young girls, promoting a “Beauty with brains” perspective, and believing that everyone is placed in their communities for a purpose, to make a difference with the gifts and talents they possess.

She runs two projects: a clothing drive collecting donations for disadvantaged homes and a back-to-school project organizing charity salons for children’s hair before school reopens after the holidays.

Andiswa Mbongeni (33), a community member of Mkelele, praised Mazibuko ‘s efforts, stating that she follows her name ‘Uyintsikelelo’ (meaning hope) well and is a blessing to the community.

Mazibuko extends her hand in cleaning houses for the elderly, showing dedication to bringing smiles to others’ faces. Volunteers working alongside Mazibuko have greatly contributed to her projects, benefiting both her and the community.
