No Safa Sedibeng Hollywood games this weekend?

"My thinking is that the league wants to avoid legal battles like in the past."

SEDIBENG.- Sedibeng Ster Sport has learned that there will be no Safa Sedibeng Hollywood Regional League fixtures this weekend.

Sedibeng Ster Sport was told by the teams that their fixture has been postponed due to outstanding disciplinary issues.

With the league remaining with few games before the end of the season, it is clear that the league wants to deal with outstanding cases to avoid legal battles at the end of the season. Some of the outstanding issues include the Vaal Legend FC matter.

The latter was expelled from the Safa Sedibeng Hollywood Regional League after failing to honour their important league matches. According to SAFA rules, if the team fails to honour their three games in a row the club should be expelled from the league.

“We received correspondence during the weekend informing us that there will be no league matches this weekend. I think some of the things that will be topping the agenda are disciplinary cases and Vaal Legend FC. We all know that every year at the end of the season there are disputes in our league for various reasons. My thinking is that the league wants to avoid legal battles like in the past because we are left with few games before the end of the season,” said a club official who didn’t want his name to be mentioned.

Meanwhile, the game between Vaal Elite Academy and Perfect Academy was stopped due to the lights. This game took place at Phoenix ground in Vereeniging on Wednesday evening. Perfect Academy Coach Sechaba Mofokeng told Sedibeng Ster Sport that when the game was stopped, they were leading 3-2.
