ELFA junior league set to kick off in May

"I do not doubt that this season the league will be more exciting with all teams wanting to be crowned the champions."

VANDERBIJLPARK.-  The Emfuleni Local Football Association’s (ELFA) Junior League is scheduled to kick off in May.

This was revealed to Sedibeng Ster Sport by the ELFA Head Of Development, Master Zondo. The teams were expected to submit their player’s registration forms on Friday. Zondo said they will start with a process to register players from Wednesday.

“We are looking forward to starting the new season of the league and we ask everyone to cooperate so that we can start the league on time. All the teams are expected to submit the player’s document at our office from Wednesday. All the players will be registered under MySafa like we did in past seasons.”

“I do not doubt that this season the league will be more exciting with all teams wanting to be crowned the champions at the end of the season. We also expect new teams to join the league, especially from the Vanderbijlpark Stream,” said Zondo.

Meanwhile, the local junior soccer teams participated in Saturday’s one-day u/15 tournament at Cecil Oldridge Park. The Vanderbijlpark and Boitshepiville teams used this tournament to prepare for the Emfuleni Local Football Association (ELFA) Junior League.

The four teams that participated in this tournament were from Bophelong, Vanderbijlpark, and Sharpeville.  The tournament also formed part of reviving the junior soccer league in Vanderbijlpark. Sedibeng Ster will publish all the results including the winners on Thursday.
