Vaal Juventus FC still in the race?

"To make things worse, next year, the majority of these players will be in matric and this means they will spend most of the time at school.

VANDERBIJLPARK.- Vaal Juventus FC is still much in the league title race despite being behind VUT FC with a point.

Juventus FC beat Mmabatho FC 1-0 in another Safa Sedibeng Hollywood Regional League match played at the NWU Vaal Campus on Sunday. It was a doubleheader, with NWU Vaal FC and VUT FC playing earlier. Juventus FC is second on the log with VUT FC at the top of Stream A with one game remaining. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Juventus FC coach Isaac Mphasane seemed to have thrown in the towel after the game.

“Ngamla, it is not easy to turn the team without a sponsorship and I think this is our biggest challenge this season. I’m aware we still have a chance to win the league if RESA beat VUT FC and we win our game. But as things stand, it seems as if VUT will be the winner in our stream. But having said this, I’m very proud of our boys. They fought until the end and we were the youngest team in the league but we held our own.”

“To make things worse, next year, the majority of these players will be in matric and this means they will spend most of the time at school. We all know that matric students attend school on Saturday and Sunday,” said Mphasane.

The league title in both Streams, A and B will be decided this coming weekend. In another stream, Perfect Academy and Young Pirates FC are the two teams that are challenging the league title.
