6-0 for Perfect Academy

The Disciplinary Committee ordered this game to be replayed after SUBS was found guilty of fielding unregistered players during their previous encounter, which ended in a 1-all draw at Qetilizwe ground in Evaton North on May 4.

VANDERBIJLPARK.- Perfect Academy dominated SUBS with a resounding 6-0 victory in the Safa Sedibeng Hollywood Regional League’s Stream A replay match at NWU Vaal grounds on Sunday. The Disciplinary Committee ordered this game to be replayed after SUBS was found guilty of fielding unregistered players during their previous encounter, which ended in a 1-all draw at Qetilizwe ground in Evaton North on May 4.  SUBS Head Coach, Petros “Yester” Molahloe, confirmed to Sedibeng Ster Sport that they indeed fielded ineligible players against Perfect Academy. They were presented with two options: To replay the game or concede three points to Perfect Academy. This match was also marred by supporter aggression towards the match officials at its conclusion.
Currently, Perfect Academy leads the Stream A log, with Young Pirates FC closely trailing, separated only by goal differences. The ultimate league champion for this stream remains undecided. In Stream B, VUT FC has already been crowned champions and will face the winner of Stream A to determine the overall Safa Sedibeng Hollywood Regional League champion, who will represent Sedibeng at the Promotional Play Off.

FROM THE COACHES

Petros Molahloe

“We pleaded guilty for fielding unregistered players, and we told the disciplinary committee that we won’t mind playing this game again. We came to honour today’s match even though we gave our players a break to commit to their school activities and only to be recalled for the rematch. ”

Sechaba Mofokeng

“We will hear from the league when we will play our game against Vaal Elite Academy after it was stopped with 15 minutes remaining due to the lights at the venue. It was already dark, and the referee stopped it for the safety of the players.”
