Qoqa Community Projects hosted human rights workshop
“It was a great day for the Evaton community, young and old to learn about their rights."

EVATON.- Qoqa Community Projects which is registered as a non profit organisation (NPO) hosted a human rights workshop at their premises next to Muti House, Adam Road in Evaton last Thursday.
The day’s program started with a fun walk from the center to Levai Mbatha Clinic with the children carrying placards written human rights messages. Despite the cold weather in the morning, the kids from the community came in numbers to be part of this initiative which was the first of its kind to take place in the area.
The children were wearing their school uniforms as they conveyed their message through the posters. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Mapule Koloba who is the founder of the organisation said that the main purpose of this initiative was to create awareness about human rights especially the right of the children who were part of the program. The workshop was also meant to educate the community about their rights.
“It was a great day for the Evaton community, young and old to learn about their rights. This is our biggest challenge in the community with our people not know their rights. This workshop addressed all of those things to educate our community about their rights,” she said.
Koloba said she thanks all the stakeholders, especially the Evaton Central community who made this event a success.
