Sukuma Lutsha hosts 5km run

"The other day I applied for a job and was invited for a medical assessment. My fitness levels were unbelievably on par, to the disbelief of the medical team."

SEBOKENG.- Sukuma Lutsha hosted a 5km run and a bootcamp on December 16.

The event aimed to inspire the community to continue adopting a positive lifestyle during this festive period.

Luthando Bottoman from Sukuma Lutsha said that because this is the season in which most people default to bad eating habits and excessive drinking of alcohol, they needed the bootcamp.

“December is the month when many of us notice that our gym routine starts to fall off the rails. The days are shorter and we often feel ‘sluggish’. The social calendar starts to fill up and many of us feel the pressure mounting as we manage the expectations of the holiday season. All of this makes things harder for so many people to make time for their workouts,” Bottoman said.

Sukuma Lutsha encourages the community to do something different this festive season that will help them keep their energy up, boost their immune, and protect their mental health.

On the same day, members of Sukuma Lutsha embraced and showed appreciation to the founder and marketing officer of Sukuma Lutsha Developments, Luthando Bottoman, who they believe has impacted their lives positively through Sukuma Lutsha’s different projects. He received gifts from the members, with a t-shirt full of messages that indicate love. Also attached to those gifts was a lifetime achievement award from members that displayed Bottoman’s picture and message of acknowledgement.

“When I joined Sukuma Lutsha I was unemployed. The other day I applied for a job and was invited for a medical assessment. My fitness levels were unbelievably on par, to the disbelief of the medical team. A mini-investigation came into effect because they thought I was using something, only to find out that my top-notch fitness and health levels were organic without any substance support. I’m honoured to be part of this institution,” said Thato Modimola, a member of the organisation.
