Golden Highway claims a life

"The vehicle was further pointed out by a witness as the vehicle that had driven over the deceased.”

SEBOKENG.- A Culpable Homicide investigation is underway after a vehicle drove over a pedestrian on the Golden Highway next to Zone 20 Phase 2, opposite Polokong Engen garage on New Year’s Day.

Police spokesperson, Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane confirmed that the vehicle drove in the direction of Vanderbijlpark.

“The deceased was declared dead by the Emergency Medical Services on arrival. Constable Neo Sedi from Sedibeng K9 Unit, Gauteng Traffic Officer Provincial Inspector Rebecca Ramatsebe, and Gauteng Traffic Wardens attached to Sebokeng SAPS, patrolled the nearby areas in search of the said vehicle until they found it abandoned and it had blood stains. The vehicle was further pointed out by a witness as the vehicle that had driven over the deceased.”

The police plead with the drivers to stop after an accident as this can prevent hit-and-runs.
