SEDIBENG.- Kaizer Chiefs, otherwise known as ‘Amakhosi’ babies, will take a short trip to Vaal next month. They have a date with Sekhukhune United in the DSTV Diski Challenge (DDC) at Isak Steyl Stadium on February 23.
The local soccer fans will be looking forward to this fixture with a key interest in watching one of their own, Naledi Hlongwane, in action. Chiefs are the current DDC log leaders with 30 points from 13 games with Mamelodi Sundowns on their heels with 29 points from the same number of games. As things stand, it is unclear who will walk away with the championship between the two rivals.

On the other hand, Sekhukhune United would hate to play the Chiefs so early as they try to find their old form. They are not the same team that they were last season.
United has assembled a new team with most of the senior players seeming to be either promoted to senior team or loaned to Motsepe Foundation Championship teams. They were struggling against Richard Bay in their last game.
However, by the time these two teams meet, there might be changes at the top of the log depending on how Sundowns and Stellenbosch play in the coming fixtures. These two teams are behind second and third respectively on the log.
Stellenbosch has played a greater number of games compared to Chiefs and Sundowns. For now, it looks like it is a two-horse race between Sundowns and Chiefs. But having said this, United might cause an upset by beating Chiefs.
