We continue to serve the community of Boipatong: Mofokeng
"I think some of them were discouraged by the fact that they had a dark Christmas."

BOIPATONG.- “We won’t be discouraged to serve our community.”
These were the touching words of the Itireleng Parks Team founder, Parks Mofokeng.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster when they started their cleaning project on Monday, Mofokeng said even though they celebrated Christmas empty-handed they will continue to serve the community.
He said they are committed to cleaning the Boipatong township regardless of the circumstances.
Mofokeng told Sedibeng Ster that despite the disappointment of not receiving any donations for the festive season, it didn’t discourage them. However, Mofokeng said some of the team members didn’t come back when they started on Monday and he suspect that this might be because they didn’t receive anything in December.
Sedibeng Ster ran an article last month with Itireleng Parks Team pleading to the community to donate food parcels to the group so that they can have a decent Christmas with their families. Parks Team has been cleaning the Boipatong area for the past five years transforming the township’s open spaces into community parks.
“We came back on Monday, but some of the members of the team are missing. I think some of them were discouraged by the fact that they had a dark Christmas. We thought some of the Good Samaritans, businesses, and community members would contribute something to these selfless men and women. But this will not discourage us, we will continue to serve our community like before. We hope somebody will read this and do something about our situation. We want to thank Sedibeng Ster for the support we received from the start,” concluded Mofokeng.
