SEBOKENG.- The Sebokeng police are investigating circumstances surrounding an incident that happened in Sebokeng where a baby was driven over by a vehicle and killed last Thursday.

Sebokeng SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane said that last Thursday afternoon, the police  received a call from community members alleging that a vehicle had driven over a crawling baby in Zone 14, Sebokeng.

“It is alleged that the driver of the transport, was reversing after dropping off a scholar. He heard a sound from the rear and upon inspection he noticed that he drove over a baby. The baby was declared dead at Sebokeng Hospital and further taken to Sebokeng Government Mortuary,” Mokhachane said.

The police plead with the parents to always monitor their children while they are crawling or playing in the yard and street.
