BOIPATONG.- Tshediso ‘Bashi’ Tshehla was given a huge responsibility to lead from the front front when his team, Sekhukhune United beat Orlando Pirates 2-1 in the DSTV Diski Challenge at Isak Steyl Stadium, in Vanderbijlpark, on Sunday.
Tshehla led by example as captain and playmaker in the middle of the park pulling all the strings for his teammates. He looked like a man who was inspired by his new responsibility as the team’s captain. It is a huge responsibility to be a team captain as much is expected from you. However, he seemed to be enjoying his new role. This season he came as a completely different player wearing jersey No. 10. Last season he used to wear jersey No. 11.

He is one of the players who might be promoted to the senior team at the end of the season or loaned as part of the club’s investment in this talented youngster from Boipatong. Sedibeng Ster Sport, guesses he earned this captain’s arm belt because of his consistent performance and leadership qualities.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Tshehla said he has been with the team for a long time and understands everyone. He said it is his responsibility to make new players feel welcomed and at home. According to Tshela, they assembled a new exciting team and he was happy with the progress made by the team. The win against Orlando Pirates was a huge one taking into consideration that it is a young relative team.
“I feel great and honoured to be the team captain but I must say everyone is a captain in the team because they make my job so easy. They have been supportive and they know what is expected from them. It is a great feeling to lead such a bunch of humble souls who are eager to make a name for themselves in football. We push each other at training to work hard as a team and as individuals,” he concluded.
