SEBOKENG.- Vaal-born sensation, Naledi Hlongwane, has made another headline.
Hlongwane has been included in the National U20 provisional squad in preparation for the Africa Cup of Nations scheduled from April 26 – May 18 in Cote d’Ivoire. Amajita is in Group B alongside Nigeria, Egypt, and Morocco which are regarded as the groups of death considering their history.

Amajita’s coach Raymond Mdaka has named 38 preliminary squad members consisting of DSTV Diski Challenge (DDC) and Betway Premier Soccer League players. There is no doubt that Hlongwane will be part of the final squad that will represent South Africa in this continental tournament.
He has been outstanding since his stunning performance for All-Stars in the Black Label Cup exhibition match against Magesi.
Expectations are high following his stunning performance that earned him the Man of the Match Award.
Hlongwane is one of the DDC players who have been outstanding this season.
For example, Hlongwane pushed his team to victory when the Chiefs beat Maruma Gallants 3-0 in the DDC match over the weekend. He was on the score sheet making sure his team returned to the top position on the log. Amakhosi’s babies are now at the summit of the log with 45 points. They still have a game in hand after playing 19 games. Stellenbosch is second on the log with 44 points after they played 20 games in total. As things stand, Amakhosi might take the DDC title at the end of the season.
