The body had three bullet wounds on the back of the head, and two bullet wounds on each cheek.

EVATON.- A case of murder is being investigated by the Vereeniging SAPS after the body of a man was found in a stream between Small Farms and Evaton last Wednesday.
The SAPS Water-Wing members were called to the scene and pulled out the man whose body had three bullet wounds on the back of the head, and two bullet wounds on each cheek. Police spokesperson, Constable Thulisile Msibi, said that after the deceased was pulled out of the stream, it was discovered that his hands were tied with a cellphone auxiliary cable.
She added that near the scene, there is a small bridge where two 9mm cartridges and one shotgun cartridge were found.
“There were blood stains on the floor of the bridge and according to the people staying around the scene the night before, they heard gunshots coming from the stream’s direction at around 23:00,” Msibi elaborated.
The deceased was later identified by a family member.
Meanwhile, the case has been linked to a business robbery, murder and kidnapping that took place at Plot 61 in Skippie Botha Street, Sonlandpark, Vereeniging. According to a witness, five or six unknown suspects jumped over the fence at a scrapyard. One of them was armed with a pistol and two others with toy guns. The one with a pistol allegedly opened fire shooting one of the people at the scrapyard in the lower back.
He passed away on the scene.
They then allegedly robbed the owner of R3 000 and left the scene on foot, taking one of the people there with them who is now believed to be the deceased found in the stream. They are said to have taken the direction of Sebokeng, and were Sotho speaking.
The suspects are unknown at present, and are still at large.
