Four goals thriller as Stellies beat United

It is a two-horse race between Stellenbosch and Chiefs for DDC championship.

SEDIBENG.- It was a four goals thriller when Stellenbosch beat Sekhukhune United 3-1 in another DSTV Diski Challenge (DDC).

This a minute-thriller encounter took place at Isak Steyl Stadium in Vanderbijlpark this past Sunday.

This means this past weekend, Vaal hosted two high profile DDC games on Saturday and Sunday.

The local soccer fans came in numbers to watch this encounter with Stellies made their intentions clear taking the game to United in the first whistle. Stellenbosch begun where they left off when they beat Chippa United 9-1 last weekend.

It was great game of football to watch with the local spectators rallied behind the home team Sekhukhune United, but Stellenbosch was too much for them. Stellenbosch is second on the log with Kaizer Chiefs on the summit of the log standing. As things stand, it is a two-horse race between Stellenbosch and Chiefs for DDC championship. These two sides exchange positions at the top of the log since the season started.

With the situation stand, Chiefs is topping the log standing with 54 points while Stellenbosch second with 53 points. However, Amakhosi have a game in hands after played 22 games while Stellenbosch played 23 games.

To make it interesting, these two sides will decide the DDC title when they meet at the weekend with Chiefs visiting Stellenbosch. This game promised to produce fireworks come Saturday.
