“There is a bigger picture that we want to achieve that will benefit the development of football in our area."

SHARPEVILLE.- X20 Masters FC will host Dragons Masters from Botswana in a friendly match.

This much-anticipated international masters friendly match will take place at George Thabe Stadium on April 26. This was revealed to Sedibeng Ster Sport by Steve Mofubetsoane, who is the chairperson of X20 Masters FC.

This encounter will see the former professional and ex semi-professional players entertaining local soccer fans. Mofubetsoane said this international friendly match aims to establish a partnership with Botswana’s football. He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that it is not only about a friendly match, but creating a long-term relationship with the Botswana masters. He said part of this international friendly match is to recommend local talent to Botswana’s teams.

Recently, one of the youngsters from Perfect Academy in Sharpeville joined one of the top teams in Botswana, Township Rollers FC. Mofubetsoane urges local soccer fans to come in numbers to support this initiative. One of the former professional players who is part of this exhibition match is former Kaizer Chiefs defender Thabang Rooi.

“There is a bigger picture that we want to achieve that will benefit the development of football in our area. We are looking forward to making this match a memorable one,” Mofubetoane said.
