Suspect arrested for possession of drugs in New Village

SEBOKENG.- The Sedibeng District police recently showcased their decisive action against substance abuse in the community.
This was proven through a series of impactful arrests over the past few weeks.
On April 8, a 20-year-old man from New Village, Sebokeng, was arrested for illegal possession of drugs. Police spokesperson, Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane said that the substances are suspected to be crystal meth and mandrax tablets.
Mokhachane further added that the weekly arrests highlight the effectiveness of diligent patrols and proactive stop-and-search operations carried out within the Sedibeng District.
Brigadier Thembekile Kubone, the Station Commander of Sebokeng SAPS, emphasised the critical role of community involvement in the ongoing fight against crime. Residents are reminded that they remain the eyes and ears of the SAPS, and their tip-offs significantly assist the police in combating crime, ensuring that those in conflict with law and order face the appropriate consequences.
The suspect will soon appear in court.
