Easter safety campaign in De Deur

Police spokesperson Constable Mampho Mahlomola says, "During the campaign,motorists were informed of the grave consequences of driving under the influence."

DE DEUR – Police in De Deur together with the Department of Community Safety, Siyabangena Patrollers and Gauteng Traffic Wardens, embarked on an Easter weekend safety campaign.

The campaign was executed at Corner R82 and R550 Grasmere and Walkerville respectively. During the operation, motorists were educated about road safety measures, Gender-based Violence, and domestic violence.

Police spokesperson Constable Mampho Mahlomola says, “During the campaign,motorists were informed of the grave consequences of driving under the influence.”

Police highlighted that this offense would not be tolerated. Travelers were cautioned against leaving their residences unattended during the Easter holidays and advised to ensure the safety and well-being of their children.

Police advised members of the community to report any suspicious activities to authorities.

Police ensured safety on the roads in time for the Easter weekend.

Meanwhile, the Road Traffic Management Corporation urged caution on the roads during Easter weekend.

“Road safety is everyone’s responsibility, it cannot be left in government’s hands alone. While traffic law enforcement officers and security will be highly visible on various roads working closely with all role players, motorists must come to the party by respecting the rules of the road.”…
