Sewage spills spark concern in Vanderbijl

The branch sent a letter to ELM on February 10 about the blockage of the infrastructure due to collapsing pipes in the area, because of a lack of maintenance.

VANDERBIJLPARK – AfriForum’s Vanderbijlpark branch has again called on the Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) to urgently intervene in the persistent sewage leak in Berthault van der Riet Street in CW5.

The branch sent a letter to ELM on February 10 about the blockage of the infrastructure due to collapsing pipes in the area, because of a lack of maintenance.

According to AfriForum, ELM has not responded to their request for an action plan to solve the problem.

AfriForum further requests that the municipality clean the contaminated areas.

If AfriForum does not receive feedback, possible legal action will follow.
