Vanderbijlpark faces 16 days water supply disruption

Rand Water will be conducting essential Dam Safety Evaluation and cleaning operations of Sasolburg Reservoir No. 1.

VANDERBIJLPARK – Large parts of Vanderbijlpark will experience low water pressure or no water at all for 16 days starting from May 30 until June 14.

Rand Water will be conducting essential Dam Safety Evaluation and cleaning operations of Sasolburg Reservoir No. 1.

The maintenance work is expected to impact several Vanderbijlpark residents, including Bedwothpark, Sharpeville, Tshepiso, Boipatong, Bophelong, Bophelong Extensions, Bonanne and surrounding plots.

In a statement Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) said during the shutdown reduced pressure of the A15 pipeline will result in water supply disruptions that will affect Bedworthpark, Sharpeville and Vanderbijlpark Reservoir meters.

“The municipality will make provision for alternative water supply measures during the shutdown.”
