Sebokeng SAPS’ career exhibitions at churches

The exhibition was aimed at assisting matriculants with an insight into various career paths.

SEBOKENG.- The Sebokeng SAPS participated in a career exhibition that was held at Koinonia Bible Church in Zone 14 Sebokeng recently.

The exhibition was held in collaboration different stakeholders.

Police spokesperson, Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane said that the exhibition was aimed at assisting matriculants with an insight into various career paths, to gain valuable career insights through self-reflection, career exploration, and skills. Learners from Botebo-Tsebo Secondary School, and Residensia Secondary School came in numbers to gain knowledge.

Captain Thabo Tsolo from Public Order Policing (POP), Warrant Officer Phakathi from Local Criminal Record Centre (LCRC), Sergeant Morake from Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS), and Sergeant Maria Molefi from Sebokeng SAPS Social Crime Prevention, educated the learners about the different Units in the SAPS, as well as their roles.

Learners were discouraged from participating in criminal activities. External stakeholders also presented about their different organisations and their duties. On Youth Day, June 16, Sebokeng SAPS further participated in a career exhibition which was held at Universal Church of the Kingdom of God in Zone 10 Sebokeng.

“The learners were educated about different career paths, as well as the opportunities that await them after completing Matric,” said Mokhachane.

Learners from Tshepo-Themba, Thandukwazi, Kgokare, Jordan Boipatong, Mopholosi, and Qoqa Secondary Schools, were educated about different Components and Units in the SAPS, what is VFF Office (Victim Friendly Facility), gangsterism, dangers of substance abuse, and cyberbullying.

The Station Commander of Sebokeng SAPS Brigadier Thembekile Kubone, thanked all the stakeholders who took part in the Career Exhibition.

“I am eternally grateful for your efforts in empowering our future leaders”. She further extended her sincere gratitude to Bishop Tumo Isaac Mthimkhulu and Pastor Mzwadile Nkalankala for their participation and support in making these Exhibitions a success.”
