Vaal-born visionary empowers the next generation

From Sebokeng to boardrooms and beyond, Maduna continues to lead fearlessly—showing young women that the Vaal can birth global visionaries.

SEBOKENG.- South Africa commemorates Women’s Month in August to honour women who not only rise, but lift others as they climb.

One such woman is Zanele Maduna, founder and CEO of No-Valo Learning Centre. Born and raised in Sebokeng, Maduna is rewriting the narrative for young women in South Africa through education, coaching, and courageous leadership.

A qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) and certified coach, Maduna has become a beacon of transformation, especially for women navigating education and the corporate world. Her organisation, No Valo (which means ‘No fear’ in IsiZulu), was born from her own journey of overcoming systemic barriers and lack of access—barriers still faced by many girls in townships like Sebokeng today.

No-Valo Learning Centre is an accredited skills-development and coaching organisation that empowers students and professionals with tools for self-leadership, academic success, and career readiness.

Founded by Maduna, the centre focuses on bridging opportunity gaps through high impact education and mentoring.

Through No-Valo Learning Centre, Maduna has touched the lives of over 10 000 students and young professionals, providing self-leadership training, academic coaching, work-readiness programmes, and a powerful message: You can lead your own life—with courage, skill, and purpose.

“As a girl from the Vaal, I know what it means to grow up with dreams bigger than your circumstances,” said Maduna.

“Women’s Month is a reminder that our strength lies in our stories—and when we turn pain into purpose, we become unstoppable.”

Maduna’s work has not gone unnoticed. Her feature on CNN’s “African Voices Changemakers” spotlighted her influence as a coach and entrepreneur, creating solutions in education. She was also honoured by Mail & Guardian as one of the country’s most promising young leaders in business and development, with recognition for her work in bridging education gaps and advancing youth employability.

Maduna’s influence extends beyond the classroom.

She serves as a non-executive director, a keynote speaker, and a visible presence on social media, where she openly shares lessons on resilience, leadership, and financial literacy. Her commitment to youth upliftment, gender equity, and education access aligns closely with South Africa’s broader Women’s Month theme: Accelerating socio-economic opportunities for women’s empowerment.

From Sebokeng to boardrooms and beyond, Maduna continues to lead fearlessly, showing young women that the Vaal can birth global visionaries.
