SEDIBENG.- Local soccer fans can’t wait for the ABC Motsepe League season for 2025/2026 to start.
The reason why the local soccer fans wait in anticipation is that Vaal will be represented in this second division league.
Young Pirates FC will represent Vaal in the Gauteng ABC Motsepe League. The ABC Motsepe season is scheduled to kick off on September 26. Then followed by the Nedbank Cup Preliminaries on October 1. The latter made Vaal proud when they were promoted to this league after they did exceptionally well at the Inter-Regional Promotion Play-Offs.
Pirates didn’t just win the promotion but were crowned as the Gauteng overall champions. Pirates will play their home games at Meyerton Stadium. This was revealed to Sedibeng Ster Sport by SAFA Sedibeng deputy president Velaphi Motsepe. He was speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport immediately after the club was promoted to the ABC Motsepe League.
He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that it was a done deal between the two parties that the club will play their home games at the above-mentioned venue come September 26.
