Curtains gone down to wrap Women’s Month

"Thanks to everyone who put their busy schedules aside to come and support this initiative to celebrate and value women in this country."

VANDERBIJLPARK.- Curtains went down to mark the end of Women’s Month with Womandla Fun Run at Bedworth Centre on Saturday.

The event was sponsored by JAM in partnership with Bedworth Centre and Kasi Athletics Club.

The 8km and 5km Fun Run was a huge success, attended by all ages and genders. Participants painted the centre in red, with young and old in attendance at the historical event aimed to promote wellness, empowerment and community spirit.

With more than 500 participants, the turnout was far greater than the organisers had expected. All participants received commemorative medals, with trophies awarded to top performers during the prize-giving ceremony.

Bedworth Centre organised this successful fun run together with Kasi Athletics Club.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Sihle Makama, who was the driving force behind this initiative said he was overwhelmed by the attendance.

“I was really overwhelmed by the positive response from the participants. Thanks to everyone who put their busy schedules aside to come and support this initiative to celebrate and value women in this country,” said Makama.
