ELM arts and culture honoured with language compliance award

This accolade acknowledges the unit’s pioneering role in driving the Language Policy Development process.

SEDIBENG.- The Department of Sports, Recreation, Arts, Culture, Libraries and Information Services (SRACLIS), through its Arts & Culture unit, was granted the Language Compliance Award at the Language Development Workshop held in Centurion on August 29.

The honour was conferred by the Gauteng Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts, Culture and Heritage in partnership with the Pan South African Language Board (PanSALB). In addition to the award, the SRACLIS also received a PNA stationery voucher in recognition of its commitment and innovative contribution to language development.

This accolade acknowledges the unit’s pioneering role in driving the Language Policy Development process, a key initiative aimed at promoting inclusivity, multilingualism, and transformation within the municipal area.

“This achievement reaffirms the unwavering dedication by the department of advancing policies that reflect the democratic ideals of equity, access, and diversity,” said ELM municipal manager (MM), April Ntuli.

Ntuli congratulated the Arts & Culture unit on behalf of the municipality for excellent work. He further extended appreciation to all partners and stakeholders who continue to support the work of language development and cultural transformation.
