SEDIBENG.- Sedibeng U23 Male Netball Team hoisted the Sedibeng flag high at the Netball National Championships.

They came home celebrating all the way from Durban with gold medals after producing a five-star performance throughout the tournament, which saw them crowned the 2025 champions in the U23 B1 division.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Head Coach Bashin Thaba said they attended this tournament well-prepared. He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that the credit must go to the players for showing character against all odds throughout the tournament.

Thaba was also full of compliments for his assistant, Nnana Maseko, and team manager Tseleng Dlamini for their great teamwork. However, Thaba was quick to note that next year will not be a walk in the park as they will be competing in the next level of this competition.

“I must say that we had great preparation leading to the competition. We had enough time to prepare this team, and it didn’t come as a surprise to win this competition. These guys were outstanding and a marvel to watch throughout the tournament. I’m proud of what they have achieved both as a team and as individuals. The preparation for next year must start now because we are going to compete in the stronger stage of the tournament,” said Thaba.

Meanwhile, the Sedibeng Male Senior Netball Team finished in seventh position in the tournament. Thaba said several things could have contributed to this, as the coach was roped in at the last minute to take over from the previous coach.
