Teacher allegedly commits suicide at Sebokeng school

A staff member was at school when he spotted the deceased and he immediately called the police.

SEBOKENG. – An inquest has been opened by the Sebokeng police after a lifeless body of a man was found at Sizanani Secondary School in Zone 13, Sebokeng, on Saturday.

It is alleged that on Saturday, a staff member was at school when he spotted the deceased and he immediately called the police for help, and on arrival, the police found a man with a shoelace tied around his neck as well as on one of the classroom’s steel doors.

The deceased was identified as a teacher at the school and declared dead by the Emergency Medical Services.

“He was further taken to Forensic Pathology Services for further investigation. We are pleading with the community members not to wait 24 hours to report a missing person, as there is no time frame to report a person as missing,” said police spokesperson Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane.

At the time of going to print the teacher’s identity had not yet been revealed.
