SARS urges timely payments as financial year reaches midpoint
SARS has urged individuals and businesses to pay outstanding amounts promptly to avoid penalties, interest, or delays.

TSHWANE – The South African Revenue Service (SARS) has called on taxpayers to make payments without delay as the 2025/26 financial year reaches its halfway point.
In a statement issued on Thursday, SARS urged individuals and businesses to pay outstanding amounts promptly to avoid penalties, interest, or delays. Payments can be made via secure platforms including eFiling, EFT, and registered banks.
“These platforms meet international security standards and enable taxpayers to meet their obligations easily and safely,” SARS said.
The agency also warned of increased scam activity, reminding taxpayers that SARS will never send links requesting engagement. “Keep your credentials secure and use only registered tax practitioners,” the statement added.
SARS thanked all taxpayers who continue to contribute to the national fiscus and reiterated the importance of remaining vigilant against fraud.
