TINYA Foundation Soccer Tournament Champions held

The tournament saw the ELFA's four teams that were log leaders at their respective streams competing against each other for the championship.

SEBOKENG.- TINYA Foundation, in conjunction with Emfuleni Local Football Association (ELFA) and Master Zondo Foundation, hosted a successful U17 Tournament.

The 5th Annual soccer tournament took place at Beverly Hills soccer ground next to Beverly Hills Secondary School over the weekend.

The tournament saw the ELFA’s four teams that were log leaders at their respective streams competing against each other for the championship.
The four teams that were part of this initiative were Thubalihle Youth Development FC (Evaton Red Stream), Happiness Sports Development FC (Evaton Blue Stream), Vaal Gardens Sports Academy (VGSA) (Sebokeng Orange Stream), and United Colours FC (Boitshepiville White Stream).

It was football galore throughout the day, with VGSA crowned the TINYA Foundation Tournament champions after they beat Thubelihle Youth Development FC 1-0 in the nail-biting final. The tournament was attended by both TINYA and ELFA representatives. It was a perfect day for football, with the participating teams displaying a high standard of football inspired by the South African U20 National Team that is participating in the FIFA U20 World Cup currently underway in Chile.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, on behalf of both parties, Master Zondo hailed this tournament a huge success.

He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that this year, the teams set the standard too high. ‘As ELFA and Master Zondo Foundation, we would like to take this opportunity to thank TINYA Foundation for their involvement in the development of football in the Emfuleni area. Credit should go to the TINYA Foundation manager and sportswear founder Sydwell Maake for bringing such an event to the community.”
