Community outreach programme a success

KLIPRIVIER – Members of the Kliprivier SAPS Social Crime Prevention unit, together with Siyabangena Patrollers, conducted a community outreach programme at Boitumelo Informal Settlement.
As part of the initiative, second-hand clothing was distributed to residents in need.
Speaking about the initiative, police spokesperson Sergeant Tintswalo Ndhambi explains that it aims to address social challenges that contribute to criminal behaviour within communities, particularly among the youth.
In addition, Ndhambi reports that 100 educational pamphlets were distributed, focusing on sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), substance abuse, and sexual assault awareness.
“SAPS remains committed to strengthening community partnerships and addressing the root causes of crime through proactive and compassionate interventions,” Ndhambi concludes.
