Sedibeng welcomes back Emergency Medical Services team

This event is classified as the largest and most strenuous firefighter challenge hosted in South Africa.

SEDIBENG.- The Sedibeng District Health Services had the honour to welcome back the Gauteng Emergency Medical Services team that participated in the Toughest Firefighter Alive (TFA) South Africa Championship, which was held from October 9 to 11 at the Garden Route Mall in George, Western Cape.

This event is classified as the largest and most strenuous firefighter challenge hosted in South Africa.

A total of 14 employees from the five districts in the province participated in the following: Toppies of EMS (over 40), Phoenix Squad of EMS, Iron responders of EMS, Rescue Queens of EMS, males, and ladies’ individuals.

The ladies’ team shone, winning four medals in the Ladies Open Challenge and finishing third out of nine teams.

  • Bennedicta Mphaphuli – Silver, 40–45 age category
  • Rebecca Mmathaka – Bronze, 35–39 age category
