Evaton SAPS’ school safety programs

The campaign focused on educating learners about the impact of drugs on their health, academic performance, and future opportunities.

EVATON.- The South African Police Service (SAPS), together with the stakeholders, conducted the school awareness campaigns in the Evaton area recently.

The awareness was aimed at promoting school safety and raising awareness about the dangers of drugs and substance abuse.

Police spokesperson, Constable Thulisile Msibi, said that the campaign focused on educating learners about the impact of drugs on their health, academic performance, and future opportunities.

“Learners were encouraged to make responsible choices, resist peer pressure, and report criminal activities such as drug dealing, bullying, and violence within and around school premises. SAPS also emphasised the importance of cooperation between learners, educators, parents, and the police in ensuring a safe and secure learning environment. SAPS remains committed to working with all stakeholders to protect learners, prevent crime, and create schools that are safe spaces for learning and development.”
