Young Pirates FC out to redeem themselves

If Young Pirates want to stay in the hunt for the trophy, they cannot afford to drop any more points.

MEYERTON.- Young Pirates FC aren’t out of the title race just yet, despite a tough 2-0 loss to Orlando Pirates on Sunday.

The encounter, held at Sicelo Stadium in Midvaal, saw Orlando Pirates get their revenge. Young Pirates had beaten them away from home earlier in the season, but this time the visitors took the points.

Despite the setback, the Vaal-based side remains in a strong position.

They currently sit fourth in the ABC Motsepe League Gauteng Stream, with 34 points from 19 games. There is not much gap between them and the teams that are at the top of the log.

Young Pirates FC is tied with the same number of points as third-place Dinoko City FC, while second-place Rrr Rams FC leads them by a point.

Young Pirates return to Sicelo Stadium this Sunday to face Mike-1-Stars FC.

Kick-off is scheduled for 15:00.

It is a massive game for both sides.

While Young Pirates are chasing the title, Mike-1-Stars are struggling at the bottom of the league and also lost 2-0 last weekend.

Both teams are desperate to redeem themselves, but the pressure is on the home side. If Young Pirates want to stay in the hunt for the trophy, they cannot afford to drop any more points.
