EX-SAPS members meet with the aim of helping the community

After every information sharing meeting, the members enjoy a braai and they then have a chance to socialise and share past memories.

BOIPATONG.- Former and retired members of Sedibeng District South African Police Services (SAPS) have opened a Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) that is keeping them in touch with each other, and the community at large.

The members met at Club 988 in Boipatong on Wednesday.

This was not their first meeting as the members meet quarterly on Wednesdays at various venues in Sedibeng to share information that aims to assist in helping community-based organisations that are official and formal.

“We aim to help upcoming generations,” said Aubrey ‘The Great’ Moopeloa, a member of the NPO.

After every information sharing meeting, the members enjoy a braai and they then have a chance to socialise and share past memories.

“Every quarter the organisation welcomes close to five members. Some members that are stationed out of Sedibeng from other provinces are also retiring and they now come home to their families. The aim and objective of forming the NPO was to support one another in times of funerals and with all round well-being.”
