Thuto-Lore becomes school of specialization

The school’s exceptional learners were fully prepared to showcase their brilliance and unmatched skills in Manufacturing, Renewable Energy & 4IR.

SHARPEVILLE.- Education MEC Matome Chiloane, officially launched Thuto-Lore Engineering SOS, alongside Sedibeng District Municipality (SDM) Executive Mayor, Lerato Maloka on Friday.

This was done through a symbolic ribbon cutting and plaque unveiling.

Focusing on Manufacturing, Renewable Energy & 4IR, the launch of the school ushers in a new era of education, transforming how we bridge skills gaps and drive innovation.

The school’s exceptional learners were fully prepared to showcase their brilliance and unmatched skills in Manufacturing, Renewable Energy & 4IR. Amongst other things the learners showcased an incredible Smart Walking Stick and Smart Glasses designed for the visually impaired. Grade 12 learners, Njabulo Napane and Phehello Mahanke showcased their Artificial Robot Waiter, a leap forward in contactless and wireless delivery.

“Thuto Lore Engineering SOS continues to bridge the digital divide, proving township education is a hub for future-ready problem solvers,” the department of Education said.

The launch of the school marked the 37th School of Specialisation to be launched in Gauteng unlocking the talents of the province’s most capable learners while helping bridge the skills gap and drive innovation.
