Officers hailed for securing convictions in firearm and Drug cases
Kliprivier SAPS station commander Colonel LJ Mofokeng has praised five officers whose thorough investigations led to the successful conviction of two suspects in firearm and drug-related cases.

KLIPRIVIER – The Kliprivier SAPS station commander, Colonel LJ Mofokeng, has hailed five officers for their hard work and dedication after their diligent investigations led to the successful conviction of two suspects.
The investigation related to charges of possession of an illegal firearm, ammunition, and drug-related cases.
The first suspect was arrested in 2025 after he was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm. The accused was convicted on April 13 and sentenced to four years imprisonment, wholly suspended for five years on conditions, and an additional 20 days imprisonment.
In the second case relating to possession of drugs, the suspect arrested in January was required to pay a fine of R6 000 or spend six months in prison for drug possession. Additionally, the court ordered him to pay a R1 000 fine or spend 30 days in prison for being undocumented.
Colonel Mofokeng noted that the results were achieved through thorough investigations and proper evidence handling, which ensured that offenders were removed from the community.
Mofokeng praised Constable Sitemele, Sergeant Simelane, Constable Kwinda, Sergeant Botes, and Constable Mabele for their commitment to ensuring cases are finalised successfully in court.
“The efforts of the officers directly contributed to the removal of dangerous elements of criminality from our community and enhanced public safety within the Kliprivier policing precinct.”
Key aspects noted in the investigation included effective enforcement and apprehension of suspects, proper collection and handling of evidence, and commitment to court processes.
