Three arrested for stolen cattle worth R100 000

SEDIBENG.- Three suspects aged between 35 and 45 years have been arrested for possession of suspected stolen livestock in Parys.

It is said that on Thursday, May 21, at about 07:24, the Fezile Dabi District Highway Patrol, in partnership with Vereeniging VCIU, Sasolburg POP, and private security, received information about a white Isuzu bakkie with a red trailer possibly involved in stock theft.

The vehicle was later spotted on the R59 and intercepted.

It was taken to Parys SAPS for further investigation.

Police said that a preliminary investigation revealed that the cattle were stolen, and all three suspects were immediately arrested for possession of suspected stolen livestock. The vehicle and trailer were confiscated, and 10 cattle estimated to be worth R100 000 were recovered.

The trio is expected to appear before the Parys Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of possession of suspected stolen livestock.
