Prison warder arrested for alleged possession of and dealing in dagga

SASOLBURG.- The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Sasolburg has arrested a 52-year-old male prison warder for alleged possession of and dealing in dagga.

It is said that on Saturday, August 8, at about 14:00, the Sasolburg police received a complaint regarding a prison warder who was allegedly found in possession of dagga and suspected of dealing in dagga, at the Sasolburg Correctional Center.

Upon arrival at the correctional center, police were directed to a man wearing a Correctional Services uniform. The suspect was allegedly found in possession of and dealing in dagga on the premises. The police seized 803 ziplock bags of dagga to the street value of R8050.

The 52-year-old suspect is expected to appear before the Sasolburg Magistrate’s Court soon, facing charges of possession of dagga and dealing in dagga.
